Deacons are considered servants of the church and are organized to assist the pastors in the spiritual well being of the church, as well as, assist with temporal matters.  The pastors and deacons discuss problems and needs, make plans, discuss difficulties and opportunities, and maintain cordial relations among members.  Together the pastors and deacons visit members who are shut-in at home, in assisted living, or in the hospital. 

The Deacons make recommendations to the church in all matters pertaining to its work and progress, maintain observance of ordinances, and have oversight of the discipline of the church.  Deacons along with the pastors, oversee the spiritual building of the church and assume the duties of the pastor with regard to business matters in the absence of the pastors.
